I’m interested in building products that make people’s habits and lives better. I bridge the whole path from product planning through design to implementation.
I earned a B.E. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology and an M.E. in Information Technology at Tokyo Institute of Technology. I then spent five years and nine months at Panasonic, working on embedded software for an automated dish-serving system for restaurants and on UI design and development for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. After working as a freelance full-stack engineer, I am now in the master’s programme in design at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC) in France.
My interests lie in combining AR/VR technologies, electrical engineering, cognitive psychology, and human-centered design to augment human capabilities and support habit formation.

For my master’s research I built a rehabilitation system using HoloLens. What can we do to augment human abilities and live better? I work on that question through design and engineering.
Five years and nine months of building embedded software and equipment UI gave me a feel for what can actually be built. To bring “why build it?” and “what problem does it solve?” into the product as well, I’m studying design again at UTC.
Does every system really enrich people’s lives? Might the power of design and engineering be breeding dependence on technology, or taking away the richness we already had? I keep these questions in mind as I make things.
I publish DIY electronics projects for a general audience, have exhibited at Maker Faire Japan three times, and write up what I build and read on GitHub. Finished is less interesting than shown.

A HoloLens system presented a 3D avatar synchronised to the user’s own walking rhythm. Where earlier work used auditory or timing cues, this presented the gait itself — in two versions, normal and with exaggerated arm and leg movement. Users viewing the exaggerated avatar showed significant increases in both walking speed and stride length.
Motion detection from luminance time-series at specific coordinates in video, clustered with DTW, RealAdaboost and SVM. Splitting the signal into monotonic rise and fall waveforms gave finer detection than single Gaussian distribution methods.
